$450,000 Of Fentanyl Seized During Traffic Stop

MORGAN COUNTY, Ind – Friday (4/132/19) just before 11:00 a.m. Indiana State Police stopped a pickup truck for following too close and traveling at a reduced speed  in the left passing lane on I-70 near MM 53.

During the stop the Trooper became suspicious and Putnam County K-9 officer was called in. A quick sniff indicated drugs in the vehicle.

The driver 29 year old Christian Paz Recarte, and passengers 45 year old Hugo Rosales Moreno, 29 year old Kelin Morales Martinez  and 22 year old  Katherine Navarro who are all from Los Angeles. All are facing various drug related charges.

Police found 6 kilograms of fentanyl with an estimated street value of $450,000 dollars.

It is estimated that this seizure amounted to 59,000 doses.

The drugs were coming from California and destined for Ohio.
