TERRE HAUTE, Ind – Just a little after 9:00 p.m. Friday night Indiana State Police were dispatched to the Academy Sports store on U.S. 41 South to check on a suspicious person.

A store employee told the officer that a man had just stolen a bicycle from inside the store.

The man was seen riding away.  The Trooper told the man to stop, but he refused to stop.

Police say the man rode the bicycle through several parking lots located in the immediate area, weaving in and out, making him difficult to apprehend.

He then crossed US 41, and rode through another parking lot full of vehicles where he abandoned the bike and tried to hide under the vehicles.

24 year old Camron Banghart of Terre Haute was found and arrested on various charges. He was also wanted on a warrant for probation violation on drug charges out of Clay County.
