In September of 2018, the Marion County prosecutor’s office filed three felony counts of bribery against Tanoos.

It is alleged that Tanoos received meals and entertainment in exchange for gaining approval of Energy Systems Group contracts with the School Corporation.

Defense attorneys for Tanoos moved to have those charges dismissed but a judge denied that motion.

His attorneys appealed but a court upheld those charges.

This past January, Tanoos’ legal team asked the state supreme court to take up the appeal of his charges.

The state attorney general’s office has filed their response that states that Tanoos ‘is’ properly charged and the court of appeals reached a proper conclusion.
