MARION COUNTY, Ind. – On Tuesday the attorney for former Vigo County School Superintendent Dan Tanoos file a motion to have charges against him dismissed.

Tanoos faces charges of bribery for allegedly accepting and soliciting concert and sporting event tickets, charitable contributions and more in exchange for approving contracts for Energy Systems Group which is located in Marion County.

Tanoos’ attorney claims that Marion County Court is not the right jurisdiction for this trial since the alleged bribery took place in Tennessee and Hamilton County, Indiana.

His attorneys claim that the allegations do not constitute bribery since recommendations by Tanoos and his team had to be approved by the school board.

Tanoos’ lawyers also said the charging information is so vague that they can’t build a proper defense.

The judge could approve the motion and then this would all come to an end, she could deny the motion and things would continue or she could ask for more information from the attorneys.
