ROCKVILLE, Ind.  – Extremely cold weather is on its way to the Wabash Valley.

The Bellmore Volunteer Fire Department in Rockville has announced on its  Facebook page that if anyone needs a place to stay and keep warm this upcoming week as the wind chill and temperatures are set to drop below zero they will open their doors.

They say you can message the department on Facebook, or call them at 765-344-0188.

The department is located at 7020 East U.S. Highway 36 in Rockville.

They do ask for you to not wait until the last minute so that they can make sure that they are properly prepared.

They also ask that you check with those who might need help but may not have access to these announcements.

The department also reminds you to be careful when using alternate heating methods such as space heaters, fire places, electric blankets, and the sources of heat. Some of these items can be dangerous when not properly used.
