TERRE HAUTE, Ind – Bids for the Hulman Center Renovations project have been opened and they are more than $5 million more than expected.
The low bid of the four received was around $48 million.
Architect’s estimates called for costs to be approximately $42 million.
ISU officials are now going to have to look for ways to cut costs and will then have to re-bid the project.
The total project was estimated to cost $50 million, with $37.5 million in funding coming from the state of Indiana and the remainder to come from ISU.
