“Brawl With The Law” Raises $5,000 For Local Charities

VIGO COUNTY, Ind –  Two Vigo County businesses and multiple police agencies raised $5,000 for local charities during the “2018  Brawl with the Law” this past weekend.

The event at the Vigo County Fair Grounds was a demo derby between the Indiana State Police, Vigo County Sheriff’s Office and Terre Haute Police Department and sponsored by Absolute Towing and Lambert’s Towing.

Each police agency selected the charity of their choice.

Indiana State Police raised $1,500 for Chances and Services for Youth.

Terre Haute Police Department raised $1,500 for Happiness Bag.

The Vigo County Sheriff’s Department was the winning team and raised $2,000 for Covered with Love.

At the end of the event, officers signed their helmets with their badge numbers and gave the helmets away to young spectators in the grandstand. Absolute Towing donated the helmets.

The officers that participated in the event were ISP Master Trooper Matt Ames, Senior Trooper B.J. Patterson, Senior Trooper Ted Robertson, and Trooper Mike Organ.

Participating Vigo County Deputies were Deputy Jim Palmer, Deputy Jason Fisher, Deputy Larry Hopper, and Deputy George McAdams.

Participating Terre Haute Police officers were Officer Ryan Plasse, Officer Tell Howson, Officer Justin Duke, and Officer Mark Minnick.
