California Man Accused Of Drug Dealing Receives 9 Day Sentence

VIGO COUNTY, Ind – A California man arrested last fall on drug dealing charges was sentenced in Vigo County Court.

23 year old Ravninder Singh Kaler, of Bakersfield, pleaded guilty last week to dealing in cocaine and dealing in methamphetamine as part of a plea agreement.

Police found 220 pounds of cocaine and 70 pounds of methamphetamine in his truck when it was stopped at the truck scales on I-70 in western Vigo County.

The drugs were worth nearly $5 million.

Kaler was sentenced to 10 years as part of the agreement.

The judge in the case then suspended all but nine days of the sentence and then gave him credit for the nine days he served before posting bond.

Kaler was will also have to pay nearly $400 in court costs and drug interdiction fees.

Troopers found the original security seal placed on the semi-trailer door had been removed and replaced.
