VERMILLION COUNTY, Ind – Tuesday evening around 6:30 Vermillion
County Deputies were called to a crash at US 36 and Third Street in Hillsdale.

A passing motorist told police that there were several powerlines down and across the roadway.

Officers say that they found that a car crashed into a wooded area off US 36 (south side of road) with a power pole lying on top of the vehicle that was on fire.

The driver, 46-year-old Jon Bruce of Hillsdale, escaped with only minor injuries.

Police say that Bruce was traveling at a high rate of speed and misjudged causing him to lose control and crash.
