TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – As of Friday another anchor store at Honey Creek Mall closed its doors for the last time.

Carson‘s parent company, Bon Ton filed for bankruptcy several months ago and Friday was the last day for all stores to close.

As of Friday the Honey Creek Mall store was empty and the doors were locked.

However, Carson’s may rise from the ashes and live again.

On their website a message reads “We’ve got great news. Carson‘s is coming back!” and that updates will be provided soon.

The websites for the parent company Bon-Ton’s other store brands have the same message, but use the name of those store brands.

An official from Great American Group, one of the firms handling Carson‘s liquidation, has reportedly said in a statement that the “company’s intellectual property is in the process of being sold” and that the new owner will be announced soon.

The list of store locations on the Carson’s website says its stores are “temporarily closed.”

Shoppers will just have to wait and see what the future may hold.
