CIB Has New Web Page And Facebook Page

TERRE HAUTE, Ind – The Terre Haute Capital Improvement Board has launched a new website and Facebook page.

The goal for the pages is to tell everyone just what the organization is doing.

Most of the information on the page now is about the proposed food and beverage tax and the proposed convention center.

The CIB is a partnership between the City of Terre Haute, Vigo County, and the Terre Haute Convention and Visitor’s Bureau.

Their web pages says that the CIB was created to be a standing group of leaders who would strategically choose projects to advance the economic vitality of the community.

Their primary guiding principle is to invest in projects and opportunities that will create economic tourism, a more robust quality of life, and advance West Central Indiana.

The Vigo County Commissioners passed an ordinance in 2016 establishing the CIB as a seven-member board, with no more than four of the seven members to be affiliated with the same political party.

Current members of the board are Judy Anderson, Vigo County commissioner; Duke Bennett, Terre Haute mayor; Greg Gibson, president of the Terre Haute Convention and Visitors Bureau Board; Marvel; and Steve Witt, president of the Economic Development Corporation. Two seats are unfilled.
