CLAY CITY, Ind. –A Clay City child is in need of a new kidney and the search is on for a kidney and help to pay for medical care.

11-month-old Matthew Myles kidneys were not fully developed at birth and he had tears in his lungs.

He will remain in intensive care for several days.

Matthew must be on a feeding tube and must undergo dialysis twice a day.

He will have to have a kidney transplant eventually but that will have to wait until he gets a little bigger and a donor can be found.

The goal is to raise $40,000 dollars to cover some of the cost that comes with the transplant.

Some donations have been made by local organizations and individuals, but more is still needed.

If you would like to donate you can find the Matthews fundraising page here.
