VIGO COUNTY, Ind. – Vigo County Commissioners have selected the location for a new Vigo County Jail facility.

Their choice is the former golf course near Honey Creek Mall.

The 22.1-acre property will cost around $518,000.

Wednesday was the deadline to submit a resolution for the next county council meeting, where they will need to approve this selection.

That meeting is set for May 14th.

This transaction will be contingent on the property serving as the future home of the Vigo County Security Annex.

Another possible problem could be zoning and that would be up to the city council which previously rejected a zoning change for another property proposed as a location for the jail.
