VIGO COUNTY, Ind. – Vigo County Commissioners have now passed an ordinance that establishes a new, non-reverting account that will help to make a new convention center a reality.
The account will hold funds that have been dedicated for Capital Improvement Board projects.
A proposal is expected to be made to the Capital Improvement Board next month.
The City of Terre Haute and Vigo County will each contribute $10 million to the account while the Vigo County Convention and Visitor’s Bureau will contribute $5 million.
A recently passed food and beverage tax will fund operations one the center is built.
