VIGO COUNTY, Ind. – The Vigo County Jail project takes another step forward.

The final documents related to the bond issuance were signed on Tuesday afternoon.

That means money is officially available and the construction process can begin.

Commissioners and the county attorney say that the final dollar number for the jail is $54.5 million – to be paid off in 20 years.

 

Garmong Construction Services in Terre Haute will oversee this project.

Groundbreaking could be held soon depending on weather.

There’s about a two-year construction schedule for the jail project depending on weather and any other issues.
