WEST TERRE HAUTE, Ind. — A court date set for a former West Terre Haute police officer who is accusing the town’s police department of racial discrimination in his firing.

Jonathan Stevens was found guilty of conduct unbecoming of a police officer in 2015 in connection to a domestic battery case.

The West Terre Haute town safety board decided to fire Stevens, but Stevens is accusing the board of retaliating, not because of the domestic battery case, but because he is black.

Both Stevens and lawyers for safety board and town council will be in court July 2nd.
