VERMILLION COUNTY, Ind – Sunday night around 8 p.m. Vermillion County Police were called to S.R. 234 near the state line on the report of a motorcycle crash.

Police found 48-year-old Jeffrey Downs of Cayuga in the ditch and his bike in a nearby field.

Downs suffered extensive injuries and was flown to Regional Hospital in Terre Haute  where he remains in critical condition.

Officers believe alcohol was a contributing factor in the crash.

Their investigation is continuing.
