Driver Swerves To Miss Deer, Truck Lands On It’s Side

VERMILLION COUNTY, Ind – Thursday (5/2/19) night around 11:20 p.m. Vermillion County Police were called about a semi-truck and trailer that had rolled onto its side in the median of State Road 63 just south of County Road 300 South.

Officers found the truck lying on its driver’s side with the driver still inside.

The driver, 35-year-old Andrew Alcozer of Villa Park Illinois was extricated from the semi by Newport Rescue.

Alcozer told officers that he had swerved to miss a deer and drove into the median.

He was treated at the scene for minor cuts and scrapes.

Both north bound lanes of SR 63 were shut down for approximately 2 hours while the truck was removed.
