Father-Son Argument Leads To Shooting And Charges

TERRE HAUTE, Ind – Thursday (5/24/18) evening just before 10 p.m. Terre Haute Police were sent to 1712 Hendricks Street about a shooting.

Police say that they were met by Donald Wilson, who said that he had shot his adult son after his son had kicked in the door of his how and charged at him.

Officers went into the home and found 34-year-old Austin R. Wilson, bleeding from what appeared to be a gunshot wound to his lower abdomen.

Wilson was taken to a local hospital for treatment.

Police say that the father and son had had an argument around 9 a.m. Thursday morning and that the son had attacked his father and attempted to strangle him until his mother threatened to call police.

It was then that Austin fled.

Police say that once Austin is released from the hospital he will be arrested on charges of Intimidation, Battery, Strangulation, and Residential Entry.

No charges have been filed against Donald Wilson at this point.
