FBI Returns Seized Documents

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – Last July the FBI confiscated around 30 boxes documents during a raid that happened at the Terre Haute Wastewater Treatment Plant on the city’s south side.

Those documents focused on Wastewater Utility Director Mark Thompson.

The documents seized included Thompson’s personnel file, records related to the city’s dealings with businesses such as Control Worx, Terra Solutions, as well as several cities and towns in the Terre Haute area.

Thompson committed suicide on August 4th of last year.

On Friday, the FBI returned the materials taken in the raid.

No word on what the FBI found, if anything or where their investigation goes from here.

Terre Haute Mayor Duke Bennett issued the following statement:

“I was very happy to hear that all of our records removed by the FBI last July were returned to the Wastewater Treatment Plant Office today.  We will continue to fully cooperate with the federal authorities and I am encouraged that the investigation appears to be nearing the end.  I look forward to final closure on this matter and we will soon put in an official request for any information related to their findings.”
