Final Call For Officer Pitts As Valley Says Goodbye

TERRE HAUTE, Ind – Terre Haute and the Wabash Valley said good-by to a hero Wednesday.

Officer Rob Pitts was killed in the line of duty as he investigated a homicide.

He was shot and killed by the suspect.

Police officers and other first responders from near and far attended funeral services and Hulman Center yesterday that started at 11 a.m.

Nearly 600 vehicles took part in a procession that left Hulman Center and paused briefly at the Terre Haute Police Department for a final call before proceeding to his final resting place at Center Ridge Cemetery in Sullivan.

The 16 year veteran of the Terre Haute Police Department and six year veteran of the Sullivan Police Department was 45 years old.
