Following To Closely Leads To Drug Arrest

PUTNAM COUNTY, Ind – Friday afternoon (1/25/19) around  3:00 pm, an Indiana State Trooper stopped a car for following too close on Interstate 70 eastbound near the 40 mile marker.

The driver of the vehicle was 35 year old Mindy Wilson, of Mt Vernon, Illinois.

During the traffic stop the trooper became suspicious.

A search of the vehicle turned up 221 grams of methamphetamine in the trunk with an estimated street value of $4,500.

The vehicle Wilson was driving was reported stolen out of Jefferson County, Illinois earlier that morning.

She was reportedly en route to South Bend, Ind. instead she too a side trip to the Putnam County Jail.

Wilson is facing felony charges of dealing and possession of methamphetamine, and following too close.
