Former County Commissioner Arrested On Meth Charges

VIGO COUNTY, Ind – A former Vigo County Commissioner was arrested Monday night on charges of possession of meth, paraphernalia and domestic battery.

The Vigo County Sheriff’s Deputies were called to a liquor store in Riley at 7747 S. State Rd. 46 around 10:30 p.m. about a domestic situation in the parking lot.

When officers arrived, 62-year-old David Decker and a woman fled the scene in a pickup truck.

Police later found the two at Decker’s residence.

Officers searched Decker and found meth and a pipe.

He was arrested in 2009 as part of a meth trafficking investigation and served a five-month federal prison sentence.

He was a county commissioner starting in 2007 but resigned after his arrest in 2009.
