Four Arrested For Allegedly Stealing From Widow

CLAY COUNTY, Ind – A tip has led Clay County Police to arrest four people for allegedly stealing from a widow.

Police say that the alleged criminals stole items from a woman whose spouse had recently passed away when she was not at home.

It is believed that over $22,000 worth of property was taken while the surviving spouse was away for medical appointments and other reasons.

Some items have been recovered while other items were sold on Facebook market place.

Officers say that the owner was not able to provide a complete list of everything taken as some items belonged to the decided spouse.

Police were told that the suspects were to cut down a tree on the victims property but they were not able to provide proper insurance so the deal fell through. The thefts were allegedly make up for the suspects “losses.”

Police have arrested 30-year-old Scott Allen Francis, 34-year-old Jeff Francis, 66-year-old Danny Francis Sr and 30-year-old Sable Randolph. All are from Brazil and all are facing theft charges.

Police are continuing their investigation and more arrests could be made.
