TERRE HAUTE, Ind – Indiana American Water will be flushing their water mains in the Terre Haute area starting today ( 9/10/18) through October 19.

Customers may experience a slight drop in water pressure or temporary water discoloration during the flushing.

Indiana American warns that customers may want to refrain from doing laundry during the day when flushing occurs in there area.

During the flushing the company will temporarily change the disinfectant used in the water treatment process from chloramines to chlorine.

Customers that normally take special precautions to remove chloramines from tap water, such as dialysis centers, medical facilities and aquatic pet owners, should take the same precautions.

Customers that are affected will be those on the Terre Haute system, Sullivan Vigo Rural Water, and the company’s systems in Farmersburg, Prairieton, Marion Heights and Riley.
