Indiana March Unemployment Creeps Up

INDIANAPOLIS  – Indiana’s unemployment rate stands at 3.6 percent for March up from 3.5% in February but remains lower than the national rate of 3.8 percent.

Indiana’s labor force had a net increase of 6,769 over the previous month.

According to the latest numbers released from the state, Lake County had the highest unemployment rate of 6.9% while Vermillion County was 2nd at 6.7%.

Greene County was 6th at 5.3%.

Vigo County was 10th at 5.1% followed by Sullivan County in 11th place at 5%.

Clay County was in 21st position at 4.3%

Parke County was 26th position also at 4.3%

Putnam County was 42nd at 3.9%

The lowest unemployment in the state was in Hamilton County at 2.8%
