INDIANAPOLIS – Cybersecurity threats and security breaches are two things that Infosys takes very seriously. That’s why they are proud to unveil a new Cyber Defense Center in Indianapolis.

The center is Infosys’ first in the U.S. and their seventh total. Vishal Salvi, chief information security officer and head of cybersecurity practice for Infosys, says everything they do has to have cybersecurity as a foundation.

Its purpose is to prevent, detect, assess and respond to cybersecurity threats and breaches for clients.

“We hope to embed everything that we do at Infosys…we embed cybersecurity as a foundational element of that. But when we do that, we also want to ensure that we create a world-class, highly-mature cybersecurity organization that people can trust and believe in helping them to manage their digital assets,” said Salvi to Inside Indiana Business. “And of course, we want to do something for the sake of the cybersecurity industry, so we want to make a significant contribution to that and therefore, create an ecosystem of people who can come here, who can work here. We want to do a lot of grassroots innovation and maybe solve some of the problems which are not yet solved by the industry.”

The center is located in its Technology and Innovation Hub. The groundbreaking for the center was Tuesday.

“We do a lot of work for our customers on digital transformation, technology consulting, cloud transformation, infrastructure modernization, and so on and so forth. All of this cannot be implemented without cybersecurity as a foundation,” Salvi said.

Salvi says the next step is to bring their cybersecurity services to potential clients across Indiana and throughout the country.

Infosys has six Technology and Innovation Hubs throughout the U.S.
