TERRE HAUTE, Ind.  – Terre Haute and Indiana State Police were called out Thursday to investigate a suspicious package was discovered on top of a trash can.

Around 8:30 the Indiana State Police explosive ordnance disposal team were called to the 5000 Block of North Clinton Street.

The package was described as a duct-taped Christmas style tin.

X-rays were taken but did not give a clear answer as to what the package was to it was destroyed by the officer.

No explosive devices were found inside the package.

The all-clear was given just before 1:00.
