VINCENNES, Ind. – A former Knox County student was in court Monday to be sentenced for attacking Vincennes Lincoln teacher Cheryl Clemens.

Donovan Davis changed his plea to guilty in August in the attack.

In court Davis admitted to a felony charges of aggravated battery resulting in bodily injury.

He admitted to kicking Clemons in the face and hitting her with a chair four times.

Clemens says her injuries have prevented her from returning to work.

Davis apologized directly to the teacher’s family in court.

He has been under home monitoring since the attack and the defense says his good behavior shows that Davis has served his time.

The prosecution is asking for six years with the department of corrections and three additional years of home detention.

Sentencing is now scheduled for December 18th.
