VIGO COUNTY, Ind –  A Lake County man was arrested after Indiana State University Police were called to Cromwell Hall just before 2:00 p.m. Saturday afternoon on the report of a fight on the seventh floor.

27-year-old Richard Todd of Gary told police that he was trying to pick up some stuff from a friend’s room when the fight occurred. The occupant of the room told police that he did not know Todd and that he had interrupted Todd burglarizing the room.

A review of video showed that Todd gained access to the building by following a student who used a key to access the building and he had previously been banned from all ISU property and told not to return.

Todd was arrested on preliminary charges of burglary, residential entry and battery with bond set at $15,000.

He is set to appear in Vigo County Court Tuesday morning.
