Lawyer Ends Bid To Toss Confession In Colts Player’s Death

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind  — Attorneys for a Guatemalan man living illegally in the U.S have ended their effort to have his confession thrown out in a drunken-driving crash that killed Indianapolis Colts linebacker Edwin Jackson and an Uber driver.

The defense initially argued that Manuel Orrego-Savala’s admission to a state trooper shouldn’t be allowed because he wasn’t first read his rights.

Investigators say the man told the state trooper that he was driving a pickup truck involved in the fatal crash on Feb. 4.
