Lightning Causes Oil Fire Tuesday Morning In Cory

CORY, Ind. – Volunteer Firefighters were called out to a blaze Tuesday morning in Cory, Indiana.
Fire crews believe that the blaze may have been caused by a lighting strike.
The fire involved about 4,200 gallons of oil, in addition to the containers holding the oil.
Fire officials contacted the Indiana Department of Environmental Management to help with the possible environmental concerns and put a cleanup plan in place.
Firefighters used a fire extinguishing foam to help put out the fire.
Clay City and Center Point fire departments were also on hand to assist.
