Man Accused Of Neglect And Cutting Child’s Tongue Appears In Court

TERRE HAUTE, Ind.  – A Terre Haute man facing charges in a child neglect case remains in jail.

On Monday, Scott Edwards he went before a judge for a bail review hearing.

He faces charges of aggravated battery, battery resulting in serious bodily injury, and neglect of a dependent resulting in serious bodily injury.

He allegedly used scissors or some other device to cut the tongue of his girlfriend’s 14-month-old son.

The child had bruises and other injuries.

In court, no decisions were made.

Jail records indicate that his bond remains at $75,000 cash only with no 10% allowed.

Another hearing was set for next Monday.
