Man Arrested By U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force Makes First Court Appearance

VIGO COUNTY, Ind.  – An initial court appearance was held Friday for a Terre Haute man at the center of a Vigo County police standoff.

Members of the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force tried to arrest 39-year-old Joshua Lankford for an outstanding warrant.

He was found in the crawl space of a home on North Baldwin Street.

On Friday in court a public defender appointed to him and a not guilty plea was also entered on his behalf.

Lankford is slated to return to court on Monday.

He remains behind bars on a $35,000 bond.
