Margaret E. Brown, 96 of Seymour, formerly of Brazil, passed away March 25, 2020 at the Lutheran Community Home in Seymour, IN. She had been a resident there for the past 3 years. She was born December 2, 1923, the daughter of Charles Brush and Elsie Lantz Brush. As a young girl, her father was a minister and he instilled the foundation of Christ in her life at a young age. She has been a life-long devoted member of the First Church of the Nazarene in Brazil.
Margaret was united in marriage to Everett L. Brown on June 24, 1943. Together they owned and operated Brown’s Café in Brazil in years past. Margaret also worked for Buck’s Accounting and later worked at CBS in Terre Haute, retiring in 1985.
Margaret enjoyed crocheting and needlework, making her famous noodles and pies and playing card games with family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Everett Brown, September 17, 2010; one grandson, Eric Rodgers; siblings, Opal Conner, Bertie Lou Stimpson, Charles Robert “Bob” Brush, Ray Brush, Mildred Malson, Donald Brush and Sara Jan Buck.
Survivors include her three daughters, Connie Borgman and husband, Larry of Columbus, IN, Shirley A. Garrett and husband, Roger of Sun City Center, FL, Debra L. Rodgers of Brazil, IN; grandchildren, Kevin Borgman (Chris), Darren Borgman, Malinda Davidson (Jim), Brent Garrett (Jaki), Kimberly Tardi (Mike), Scott Rodgers (Jennifer), Jason Rodgers (Brittany), Justin Rodgers; great-grandchildren, Cory Borgman, Rebecca Borgman, Lydia Borgman, Claire Davidson, Evan Davidson, Damian Tardi, Michael Tardi, Christian Tardi, Sean Garrett, Justin Garrett, Madison Rodgers, Makayla Rodgers, Isabell Rodgers, Jessamyn Kaelber, and Clay Kaelber; many nieces, nephews and a large extended family.
Due to the restrictions placed on gatherings, a funeral for family will be held on Monday at 2:30pm at Summit Lawn Cemetery with Pastor Betts officiating.
