VIGO COUNTY, Ind – The Vigo Sheriff reports that the Triad Scam line has received calls from victims who are being told that grandchildren or other relatives of the victim have either been injured or are in jail and bond money or payment is being needed to get them out of jail or released from hospitals.

This is reminder that names of your family members can be easily found through the internet and to always verify the validity of these calls before ever sending money.

In addition the public is reminded that legitimate funding sources would not include gift cards so callers should consider this a warning sign when receiving calls were payment is being requested by purchase of gift cards.
