VIGO COUNTY, Ind. – A former Vigo County Commissioner that was arrested last month on charges of possession of meth and domestic battery is now facing additional charges.
David Decker was arrested again for an incident that reportedly happened that same weekend.
Just after midnight on May 27th a state trooper saw the alleged victim walking on State Road 46 in Riley.
She said she was walking to try and get a better cell phone signal so that she could call for a ride.
The trooper noticed a knife mark on her arm and bruising around her neck.
She told the officer that Decker had tried to kill her, cut her with a pocket knife and then wrapped his hands around her neck.
Decker is now facing charges of domestic battery, domestic battery by means of a deadly weapon, and two counts of strangulation.
He is scheduled to appear in court today.
