TERRE HAUTE, Ind.  – A Vigo County mother accused in her son’s death will return to court November 12th to see if she is eligible for a public defender.

Terre Haute Police say 38-year-old Tabetha Smith’s three-month-old son died from severe dehydration in April.

Officials say that Smith ignored medical professionals demanded to return her son’s feeding tube into place, and resulted in the child’s death.

Smith is facing charges of neglect of a dependent resulting in death.
