VIGO COUNTY, Ind. – A Terre Haute woman was sentenced Friday for the death of her child.

Tiffany Daugherty pleaded guilty to neglect of a dependent and reckless homicide after her 5-year-old daughter died from starvation and pneumonia in January of 2016. She suffered from several medical problems before her death.

Daugherty was sentenced to 21 years total.

A minimum of 15 of those years will be spent behind bars.

Six years will be spent on probation.

Judge Roach told Daugherty about her little girl that, “She was looking for you. You were her world.”
