New Car Seat Law In Illinois Starting January 1st

ILLINOIS – Drivers in Illinois will need be aware of a new safety seat law that will go into effect January 1st.

The Illinois Child Passenger Protection Act says children must be rear facing until the age of two and children under the age of eight to be in the proper safety seats.

The previous law required kids to remain in rear-facing seats up to one-year-old and 20 pounds.

Now there is no weight restriction just age.
