CLINTON, Ind. – A new community center is now open in Clinton.

The old JC Penny building at 301 South Main Street was purchased by the city earlier this year for $36,000.

Less than $100,000 will be spent on renovations.

The total cost is less than what a new structure would have cost.

People gathered Saturday for the grand opening of the Clinton Community Center.

The city will be renting the space for parties as well as using it for large meetings and it will be available to be used in an emergency.

Other organizations like Kid Kare Project have already leased parts of the building.

You can contact the Mayor’s Office for more information and to reserve the community center.
