There are now only 10 living survivors of the USS Indianapolis.

The USS Indianapolis was torpedoed by the Japanese and sank on July 30, 1945. Of the 1,195 crewmen on board the heavy cruiser, approximately 300 went down with the ship. The remaining 890 were stranded in the ocean and subjected to shark attacks, exposure, dehydration, and saltwater poisoning. Only 316 survived.
