BRAZIL, Ind – Brazil City Police are investigating a Saturday night shooting.

It happened around 9:00 p.m. at the West Central Village Apartments on the northwest side of the city.

Brazil City Police Chief Clint McQueen says that one man was shot but that individual and several others had fled the scene by the time officers arrived.

The person that was shot was found a short time later and was taken to Terre Haute Hospital and then to Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis. The condition of that person is not currently known.

Police have arrested 23-year-old Cody Wampler of Brazil on a charge of Resisting Law Enforcement. Other charges may be filed.

McQueen said that other arrests could yet be made as their investigation continues.
