PARKE COUNTY, Ind  – Just before 2 a.m. Saturday Parke County Deputies found a burglary in progress on CR 750.

As officers were checking vehicle near a building on the property, two men were seen running from the building.

One of the suspects, 20-year-old John C. Smith of Montezuma was apprehended in a field near the building and was taken into custody.

He is being held on charges of burglary and theft.

A second suspect was able to escape.
