TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – A Poland, Indiana woman was arrested on a charge of battery on a person under 14 years old.

60-year-old Sharon Gatti allegedly cared for the child for nearly 45 minutes and in that time she is accused of punishing the autistic child for letting her dog out of the house.

It is believed that she threw a box of rotten fish food at the child and hit him repeatedly with an Xbox cord.

Police say the child had a number of red, swollen marks all over his body.

Gatti is currently free on bond.
