Police Identify Victims In Parke County Fatal Van/Amish Buggy Crash

PARKE COUNTY, Ind – Police in Parke County have identified the two people that were killed in accident involving and Amish Buggy last weekend (11/2/19).

24-year-old Tina Detweiler was pronounced dead at the scene. Her son 2-year-old Kenneth Detweiler was flown to St. Vincent’s Clay Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

24-year-old Abraham Detweiler the father and husband and 5-month-old Kathryn Detweiler were flown to an Indianapolis hospital and were released on Sunday (11/3/19).

The accident on US 36 near the Raccoon Lake Bridge when the buggy was hit by a van driven by 66-year-old Steven Miller Ealy of Danville, Indiana.

Early was not injured and police say that alcohol and drugs are not suspected to be factors in the crash.

A Veterinarian from West Central Veterinarian Services cared for the horse at the scene.
