Police Investigate Possible Hit And Run In Parke County

PARKE COUNTY, Ind – Around 10:30 Wednesday morning (2/6/2019) Parke County Deputies were called to a motor vehicle accident on S.R. 59, just south of the Montgomery County line.

Police say that 41-year-old David Leohr of Brazil was northbound on S.R. 59, and entering a sharp curve when his vehicle was struck by a semi and semi-trailer that traveled left of center.

Leohr, who was uninjured, said that the truck did not stop.

By 2:00 p.m. Deputies located and stopped the suspect truck on U.S. 41, near Rockville.

The driver, 49-year-old Carlos Apolaya of Indianapolis, denied knowing that he struck the other driver.

Officers say that there was minor damage to the rear driver’s side of the trailer.

Information was sent to the Parke County Prosecutor for review of any potential criminal charges.
