GRAYSVILLE, IN – The Sullivan County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help in nabbing an antique tractor thief. Sometime over the last 48 hours, thieves near Graysville, IN stole a 1940’s Allis-Chalmers, tricycle front-end tractor.
The tractor, although not in running condition, does have historic value and may be sought by a collector of antique farm equipment.
Also stolen the same night was a 80 bushel grain cart.
The victim advised the tractor was orange, with some rust, and the tires were in poor condition.
Investigators are asking Sullivan, Crawford and Southern Vigo County businesses and residents to review their security video for the past couple nights.
The thieves had to trailer the tractor and grain cart, and that act undoubtedly was captured on a security video.
If someone you know showed up with an antique Allis-Chalmers tractor in the last couple days contact the Sullivan County Sheriff’s Office at 812-268-4308.
