Rockville Correctional Facility Stock Local Food Pantry

ROCKVILLE, Ind – The Rockville Correctional Facility (RCF) engaged in some friendly competition recently as they helped re-stock the Parke County Food Pantry (PCFP). Pitting custody bracket against custody bracket and department against department, the clear winner of the event was the PCFP. In-house, the winner was H bracket contributing 393 items.

With 1,237 items gathered by RCF staff the shelves at the pantry are looking a bit fuller. Upon receiving news about the RCF donation, director of the PCFP, Connie Norman stated, “I am thrilled with the RCF donation. It is a much-needed blessing!”

The Parke County Food Pantry provides food to an average 352 Parke County households per month, which translates to 925-1000 individuals. In addition to non-perishable food items the pantry welcomes hygiene items, household cleaners/paper goods and baby-care items.

The annual food pantry competition is one-way RCF is able to give back to the community.
