Salvation Army Kicks Off Red Kettle Campaign

VIGO COUNTY, Ind – The Salvation Army of Vigo County kicked off its annual Red Kettle Christmas Campaign on Friday at Honey Creek Mall.

Susan Linden, the local Salvation Army’s new envoy, said that the local organization needs to increase the number of local volunteers.

Linden suggested that interested minimum-wage workers and volunteers visit their website  or call Salvation Army of Vigo County office manager Malia Mohan at 812-232-4081 to sign up for their desired location.

Bell ringing is going on now through December 24th.

This year’s fundraising goal is $140,000.

90% of all funds raised stay in the local community to help with the food pantry and other programs.

Anyone wanting to donate to the Salvation Army, located at 234 S. Eighth St., is encouraged to contact the Terre Haute headquarters.
